LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 9, 2011) – Stonehill College senior Diana Cabral (West Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater) placed tenth at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships at Kentucky Horse Park over the weekend.

Cabral was tenth in the individual novice equitation over fences class that featured 19 riders from across the country to finish among the ribbons. She earned her first trip to the IHSA Nationals by earning reserve champion honors at the IHSA Zone 1 Championships last month. Cabral drew the horse "City Lights" and showed first, maintaining a third place standing until the latter half of the competition.

"We are all pleased with Diana's ride and pleased to be tenth in the country," said Stonehill first year head coach Allegra Vallberg.

Julie Connors from Centenary College in New Jersey won the event, while Hollins (Va.) University's Sarah Jarosinski was reserve champion and Sarah Spangenberg from Dartmouth College took third.
