Stonehill Takes First Place for Second-Straight Week
Dolan wins reserve high point rider, Traendly qualifies for regionals again
REHOBOTH, Mass. (March 16, 2010) – Stonehill College placed first for the second-straight week after earning the honors at the UMass Dartmouth/Wheaton College Home Show at Hobby Horse Farm this weekend. The Skyhawks topped the field of 11 teams with 41 points, followed by second-place Wellesley College (30 points) and third-place Tufts University (29).
Freshman Emily Dolan (Lacrosse, Wis./Aquinas) won her intermediate flat and open classes and earned reserve high point rider of the day to lead Stonehill. Junior Diana Cabral (Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater) won her novice flat class and was second for novice fences, while classmate Martina Tramontozzi (Melrose, Mass./Melrose) won her novice fences class and was second for novice flat.
Senior Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho Regional) placed fourth in her open fences class, qualifying for regionals in the event. She has also qualified for the flat last weekend.
Other highlights for Stonehill today included:
Freshman Samantha Lindquist (West Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater) won her novice fences class.
Senior Rachel Foster (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex Regional) was second for intermediate flat and fences
Junior Kayla Schneider (Vernon, Conn./Rockville) placed second in open flat.
Sophomore Nina Crossley (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) was second in her walk-trot-canter class.
Freshman Alexandra Fenner (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth) was second in her walk-trot-canter class.
Stonehill is back in action on Saturday when it participates in the Brandeis University Home Show at August Farm in Holliston, Mass.
