Crossley joins Skyhawks regional qualifiers in walk-trot-canter

STOUGHTON, Mass. (November 15, 2009) - The Stonehill College equestrian team placed second out of 12 teams that competed in its fall home show at Dry Water Farm today.

Stonehill posted a team score of 39 to finish just behind first place Endicott College with a score of 41 points. Boston University and Boston College tied for third with 34 points, while Tufts University rounded out the top five with 31.

Sophomore Nina Crossley (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) led the individual standouts for Stonehill as she placed first in her walk-trot-canter class to clinch a spot in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) regionals next spring.

Other top finishers for Stonehill include:

Senior Quinn Traendley (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho Regional) won her open flat class.

Sophomore Christine Dwyer (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) won her novice flat class.

Freshman Mary-Kate Carr (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) won her walk-trot-canter class.

Sophomore Rebecca Rossi (Cranston, R.I./Bay View Academy) placed third for novice fences.

Stonehill returns to action next Sunday when it hosts Sacred Heart University for an NCAA head-to-head matchup at noon.
