Stonehill Places Second at Endicott Home Show

Hill and Monroe regional qualifiers in novice fences and flat, respectively

BOXFORD, Mass. (November 9, 2009) - The Stonehill College equestrian team placed second out of 12 teams competing at the Endicott College home show at Springtide Farm this weekend.

Stonehill posted a team score of 40 points to finish just behind Boston University who won the event with 45 points. Endicott rounded out the top three with 35 points. Seniors Kelsey Hill (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine/Foxcroft Academy) and Kelli-Ann Monroe (Swanzey, N.H./Monadnock Regional) both locked up qualification for the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) regionals next spring. Hill qualified in novice fences with her first place finish, while Monroe qualified for novice flat after her third place finish in the event.

Senior Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho Regional) won open fences and placed third in open flat.
Freshman Cassandra Lorusso (Wrentham, Mass./Dana Hall School) placed second in open fences and third in open flat.
Senior Stephanie Perry (Wareham, Mass./Sacred Heart) placed third in intermediate fences.
Sophomore Christine Dwyer (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day) placed second in intermediate fences.
Sophomore Rebecca Rossi (Cranston, R.I./Bay View Academy) placed first in novice fences.
Freshman Samantha Lindquist (West Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater) placed third in both novice fences and novice flat.
Senior Rachel Foster (Townsend, Mass./North Middlesex Regional) placed second in her intermediate class.
Junior Kate Perez (Southampton, Mass./Hampshire Regional) placed second in novice flat.
Sophomore Margeaux DeVirgilio (Poughkeepsie, N.Y./Our Lady of Lourdes) placed third in novice flat.
Freshman Mary-Kate Carr (Queensbury, N.Y./Queensbury) won her walk trot canter class.
Sophomore Nina Crossley (Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) won her walk trot canter class. Other Stonehill results include:
