Equestrian Leads Region Heading Into Home Show

Wellesley, Mass. - The Stonehill Women's Equestrian team posted 35 points for the victory at Wellesley on Sunday.  The women are now leading their region by 31 points with only one show remaining before Zone competition.

Among the highlights for the Skyhawks was Jamie Marsalise (Laurel Hollow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor), who won both her fences and flat class at the show.  Marsalise finished as the reserve high point ride for the day.

Quinn Traendly (Hope Valley, R.I./Chariho Regional) won her open flat.  She finished second over fences, as well.    Devon Poeta (Old Lyme, Conn./Lyme-Old Lyme) was second over fences for open, while Diana Cabral (Bridgewater, Mass./West Bridgewater) was third for Novice Flat. 

Jenna Boyd (Middleton, Mass./Masconomet), a junior, claimed second for the Skyhawks for Walk Trot Canter.  Classmate Naomi Crilley (Mountain Top, Pa./Bishop Hoban) earned top honors for Walk Trot.

Rounding out the day for Stonehill was junior Becca Clifford (Rehoboth, Mass./Dighton-Rehoboth).  Clifford added to Stonehill's point total - winning her intermediate flat class

With one week remaining before Zone competition, the Skyhawks are set to host a home show Saturday, March 29th.  The event will be held at Dry Water Farm.
