HARRISBURG, Pa.-- Stonehill senior Kalyn Healey (Plympton, Mass.) closed out her collegiate equestrian career on a high note on Thursday afternoon, as she finished third in the individual open fences at the 2006 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association National Championships.

Healey had posted a top five finish in the event during the day's competition and was called back in a five-way ride off, where she improved her standing two places.

Healey, who helped Stonehill capture the IHSA Collegiate Cup national championship as a freshman in 2003, advanced to the national championships this year after winning the IHSA regional title in the open fences back in April at Mount Holyoke.

Healey's third place finish at the national championships is the highest for a Stonehill individual in three seasons.
