EASTON, Massachusetts (April 2, 2019)
– The Stonehill College baseball team was edged by Northeast-10 Conference foe Bentley University, 4-3, in the top of the ninth on Tuesday afternoon on Lou Gorman Field for the Skyhawks' home opener.

For the Skyhawks (12-15, 3-4 NE10), Matthew Rocco and William Kelleher tallied the only multi-hit at bats both swinging 2-for-4 with one run scored, as Rocco notched his fifth double of the season. Harrison Sabo, Aidan Wilde, and Thomas Quinn recorded the RBI on the day, while Michael Young tossed his third complete game of the season and fourth of his career.

Four other batters recorded hits, as Jake Pierce and Christopher Butler tallied a RBI a piece. The trio of Evan Christopulos, Jimmy Hodgson, and Will Rossiter struck out 10 batters, as Rossiter recorded his second win of the season.

Both teams were scoreless and hitless through the first three innings, until Bentley connected for a hit and an error to put up two runs on the board. After a leadoff walk, Young was able to handle the next two batters with ease. Berardino came up to bat fourth in the inning and he roped a double to right center scoring Troiani from second, as Grover reached on an error in center field reaching third and advancing Berardino from second for a 2-0 advantage.

Stonehill did not go down without a fight and with runners on first and second and one out, Wilde singled to center field scoring Kelleher to cut the deficit to one, 2-1. Stonehill loaded the bases after a fielding error and with a two-out walk from Quinn, the Skyhawks tied the game, 2-2.
