Baseball Welcomes Eight to Class of 2022

Eight student-athletes to join Skyhawk baseball program

EASTON, Mass. (June 14, 2018) – The Stonehill College baseball team and head coach Patrick Boen are pleased to announce the eight incoming student-athletes for the class of 2022.

The class of eight includes four infielders, one outfielder, one catcher, and two pitchers.

"I am pleased and excited to announce the class of 2022 and welcome them into Skyhawk Nation!" stated Boen. "This is a talented group of student-athletes that will allow us to compete in the NE10 conference and hopefully on the regional and national level. They will provide depth to our current roster, but will create competition and I believe that they will be able to compete immediately."

"I am extremely excited about this group, not only for the baseball skills they possess, but for the academic and leadership skills they have. They have been team captains and excellent students, qualities that are very important to the rebuilding of our program."

Stonehill baseball won 17 games last year and returns the majority of its starting lineup, including All-Northeast-10 Conference players Matthew Rocco (Newington, Connecticut/Newington) and Harrison Sabo (Wilton, Connecticut/Wilton). The pitching staff will be bolstered by the return of senior Michael Young (Mashpee, Massachusetts/Pop John Paul II), All-NE10 Rookie selection Jared Brooks (Scarborough, Maine/Cheverus), and top bullpen arm Chris Murphy (Swampscott, Massachusetts/St. John's Prep).

The 2019 season will kick off with the Skyhawks annual trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on February 21.
