Sabo led the Skyhawks batting 1-for-3, recording two RBI
MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 10, 2017) – The Stonehill College baseball team faltered to Northeast-10 Conference foe Adelphi University, 10-4, in a 14-10 hitting battle in favor of the Panthers Friday afternoon at Paul Demie Mainieri field on the campus of St. Thomas University.

Seven Skyhawks rallied together to combine for 10 hits, while Harrison Sabo (Wilton, Connecticut/Wilton) led Stonehill batting 1-for-3 tallying two RBI, two walks, one stolen base and a run scored. Thomas Quinn (Wilbraham, Massachusetts/Wilbraham Monson) batted 1-for-1 as Jeremiah Vargas (Waterbury, Connecticut/Kennedy High/Taft School) went 2-for-4, each tallying the other RBI.
Brandon Morse and Camden Orologio launched homeruns over the fence for Adelphi, while Morse batted 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI as Orologio went 3-for-4 with one run scored and four RBI.
As the visiting team, Stonehill led off the first with a walk from Tyler Carey (Raynham, Massachusetts/Bridgewater-Raynham), who advanced to second on a single to left center from Ben Monte (New Haven, Connecticut/Guilford). Monte and Carey advanced on a ground out by Justin Nicklas (Foxboro, Massachusetts/St. Sebastian's), and the two scored immediately after on a single from Sabo for an early 2-0 lead.
Adelphi tied up the ball game in the bottom of the second as three hits scored two runs. With one out, Brett Malm singled down the left field line and Morse sent one to left field. Lawrence Cicileo reached first on an error, setting up bases loaded for Orologio who singled down the left field line tallying two RBI.
Stonehill led off the top of the third with a walk from Sabo and he eventually scored with two outs from a single to right field from Vargas, putting the Skyhawks up one, 3-2.
Three innings passed and Stonehill gave up eight hits in the bottom of the sixth, including two homeruns, putting the Panthers up 10-3. Leadoff batter Eric Hassell doubled to right center scoring on a wild pitch, as Malm crossed home immediately after as Brandon Morse homered. Orologio also launched a two-run homerun, scoring Cicileo. The Panthers continued driving the ball as they say Steven Withers triple to center field scoring Tyler Becker. Robert Vani singled up the middle, easily scoring Withers from third as the Panthers were able to bat around the order to see Malm up once again as Vani scored on a wild pitch for a 10-3 lead in favor of Adelphi.
Stonehill waited until the bottom of the ninth to try and rally as Quinn singled and advanced to second on the throw and Patrick Downey (Cheshire, Connecticut/Xavier) advanced to third and scored after he doubled to center field.
The Skyhawks (4-9) take on Post University on Saturday, March 11 for its final games of spring break in a doubleheader starting at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at Lynn Baseball Field
