Seniors Brian Campbell and Eric Schneider named to the All-Conference Third Team

EASTON, Mass. (May 10, 2016) – Two members of the Stonehill College baseball have earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors as voted by the league's 15 head coaches, it was announced today.

Senior left fielder Brian Campbell (Franklin, Massachusetts/Mount Saint Charles) and senior right fielder Eric Schneider (Camarillo, California/St. Bonaventure) were named to the Northeast-10 All-Conference Third Team after their standout seasons for Stonehill.

Campbell earns All-Conference honors from the NE-10 for the third time of his career, earning second team accolades last season and third team recognition after his freshman campaign. Campbell hit .320 out of the three-hole for the Skyhawks this season, driving in a team leading 30 runs to go with four homeruns, 12 doubles, 26 runs and a .510 slugging percentage.

Campbell leaves his mark at Stonehill as one of the best hitters in the program's long history, owning a .325 career batting average with 215 hits, including 44 doubles, eight home runs and 92 runs batted in over his 176 career games played. Last week he was honored with the Father William Gartland award at the Student-Athlete Awards Ceremony, presented annually to one male and one female student-athlete who have achieved excellence on the playing field over the course of their career. The award winners are recognized on the basis of athletic accomplishments, citizenship and character and personality.

Schneider collects All-Conference honors for the second time of his career, earning second team recognition last season. Schneider hit cleanup for Stonehill this spring and led the team with a .339 batting average to pair with a team leading .397 on base percentage. The Camarillo, California native hit two homeruns and recorded 27 RBI while scoring 21 runs.

In Stonehill's first ever win over a nationally ranked No. 1 opponent, Schneider drove in the first Skyhawk run of the game and in his next at-bat roped a two-RBI double to left center field, breaking the tie and giving Stonehill the lead they would hold on to for the rest of the game. Over his career, Schneider has hit .293 (163-for-556) with three homeruns, 23 doubles and driven in 95 runs.
