EASTON, Mass. (June 23, 2015) – Stonehill College rising senior outfielder Brian Campbell (Franklin, Massachusetts/Mount Saint Charles Academy) has been named the Futures League Player of the Week for his efforts with his summer league team the Martha's Vineyard Sharks, the league announced on Monday night.

Campbell had a productive week for the summer wood bat league Martha's Vineyard Sharks, who lead the Futures League's East Division standings with a 9-5 record through the first three weeks of the season. He hit .400 (8-for-20) over the Sharks five games last week with four doubles, a home run, three RBI and five runs scored. Campbell leads the Sharks through 14 games with a .345 (20-for-58) batting average, 15 runs scored and six doubles to go with a home run and seven RBI. He ranks sixth in the league for batting average, while leading the league in runs scored and hits, and ranking second for doubles.

Campbell, who was named to the Division II Summer Baseball All-America second team by Baseball News after his standout season for the Sharks in 2014, was among a program-record eight All-Northeast-10 Conference selections for Stonehill this spring. He earned second team All-NE-10 honors and finished the year with a .323 (62-for-192) batting average with a team-high 49 runs scored, 11 doubles, two triples and three RBI with 27 RBI and 13 stolen bases in 50 games played.

In 138 career games played, he has posted a .327 batting average with 168 hits, including 32 doubles, seven triples and four home runs with 103 runs scored, 62 RBI and 32 steals over his Stonehill career.

Stonehill matched a program record for wins in 2015, finishing with an overall record of 34-15-1, including a 16-7 mark in the Northeast-10. The Skyhawks finished tied for second in the NE-10's Northeast Division and advanced to the Conference Championship round before earning the program's third NCAA Tournament bid as the No. 2 seed.
