EASTON, Mass. (May 17, 2012) – Stonehill College senior outfielder/left-handed pitcher Michael White (Lisbon, N.H./Lisbon Regional) has been named to the Daktronics All-East Region first team as a utility player, it was announced earlier today.

White will now be eligible in voting for the Daktronics All-America Team which will be announced during the NCAA Division II Baseball Championships.

White, who earned Daktronics All-East Region second team accolades a season ago, was selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-East Region first team yesterday as the designated hitter/utility player. The senior collects his fourth-career All-East Region award after earning American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) All-East Region second team accolades as a junior for the Skyhawks.

White played in all 49 games for the Skyhawks this season making 31 starts at first base, nine at designated hitter, seven in left field, two in centerfield and nine starts as a pitcher (ten appearances).

White compiled a .307 batting average (62-for-202) with 42 runs scored, 13 doubles, three triples, three homers, 31 runs batted in, a .353 on-base percentage, a .436 slugging percentage, went 11-for-13 in stolen base attempts and posted a .978 fielding percentage in 370 chances (327 putouts, 35 assists and eighth errors).

White reached base safely in 38 out of his 49 games played via a hit, walk or a hit-by-pitch. White also put together the longest hitting streak on the team ranging 19-straight games from March 16 to April 15 where he collected 33 hits total and 18 RBI's. White collected the most multi-hit games on the team with 22 total compiling 17 two-hit contests and five three-hit games. White ranked second on the club in multi-RBI games recording seven total. He had three two-RBI games and a pair of three and four multi-RBI contests, respectively.

On the mound, White posted a 4-2 record overall to go along with a 2.03 earned run average (ERA), two shutouts, one combined shutout and one save in 62 innings pitched. He struck out 46 batters and held opponents to a .229 batting average in 236 at-bats. White currently ranks in the top-15 in the NE-10 in complete games (three) and shutouts. White average 6.68 strikeouts per game and recorded a 3.3 strikeouts-to-walks ratio. In his last 19-and-one-thirds innings pitched to close out his senior season, White did not allow a run dating back to April 15 against Southern New Hampshire University. He also struck out five or more batters in four appearances including a season-high 11 strikeouts versus Post University on February 25 in a 4-3 win.

White's career totals include a .313 batting average (167-for-533), 89 runs scored, 27 doubles, five triples, seven homers, 77 RBI's and 48 stolen bases (.873 percent). As a pitcher, White went 13-8 overall with a 2.62 ERA in 35 appearances (28 starts), notched seven complete games, three shutouts, two combined shutouts, two saves and 156 strikeouts  in 202.1 innings pitched.
