North Andover, Mass. - The Skyhawks allowed just one run over the first five innings, but were victimized for five in the six as they dropped their fifth straight game, this one 7-3 to the Merrimack Warriors on Wednesday afternoon.

Freshman Michael White (Lisbon, N.H.) allowed just one run on one hit over the first five innings as Stonehill jumped out to a 3-1 lead.

The Skyhawks scored their first run of the afternoon on a sacrifice fly by Rob Von Stein (Trumbull, Conn.) in the top of the second. Following a Merrimack run in the bottom of the second, Stonehill scored a run in the top of the fourth and the fifth to take a 3-1 lead.

In the fourth, junior Shane Franz (Cazenovia, N.Y.) singled to score Ryan Healy (Lynn, Mass.) and an inning later the Skyhawks added to their lead on a Mitch Davis (Bow, N.H.) sacrifice fly.

The Warriors cut their deficit to 3-2 off a passed ball in the bottom of the fifth and in the sixth a two run double gave Merrimack their first lead of the game at 4-3.  The Warriors tacked on three more runs in the inning, chasing White in the process.

Once out of the inning Stonehill was unable to regain the lead as they recorded just one hit over the final three innings.

Davis finished 2-3 with an RBI while Franz was 2-4 with an RBI and scored a run.  White went 5.2 innings and allowed only three hits but gave up three earned runs while striking out one batter.

The Skyhawks return to action on Thursday night when they play Franklin Pierce under the lights in Ridge N.H. with first pitch set for 7:00 p.m.
