This past season Matt Giusti led the team in wins (5), innings pitched (72), complete games (6), strikeouts (51), shutouts (3) and opponents' batting average (.175) - an average that also topped the Northeast-10.

South Easton, Mass. - Two-time Northeast-10 All-Star Matt Giusti (Hopkinton, Mass.) has been selected to participate in the 2009 New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) College All-Star Game it has been announced. In addition, Guisti was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-East Region Second-Team following his senior season.

A second-team Northeast-10 All-Star in both 2008 and a first-teamer in 2009, Giusti will appear in the All-Star Game for the second consecutive season.

This past season he led the team in wins (5), innings pitched (72), complete games (6), strikeouts (51), shutouts (3) and opponents' batting average (.175) - an average that also topped the Northeast-10. Early in the season he was named both Northeast-10 pitcher and player of the week after twirling the first perfect game in school history in a 9-0 win over Assumption in a non-conference game. It was the first perfect game in Division II in nearly five years and only the 16th time it has happened overall.

The 35th annual game, which pits a University team of Division I New England All-Stars against a College team made up of Division II and III All-Stars from New England, has been moved from Fenway Park to Campanelli Stadium in Brockton and will take place on Thursday, June 4 at 7 p.m.
