Rindge, N.H. - Scott Savastano homered in the bottom of the eighth to give host Franklin Pierce a 4-3 win over Stonehill on Wednesday afternoon at Pappas Field.

The Skyhawks had rallied to tie the score at 3-3 in the top of the inning on a walk by Brenden Shepard (Boxford, Mass.) and a pair of Raven errors.

Stonehill trailed 2-0 early on after Franklin Pierce scored a paired of runs off of starter Nick Peters (Newton, Mass.) in the second inning.

The game stayed that way until the sixth when the Skyhawks finally scored. Rob Von Stein (Trumbull, Conn.) doubled down the right field line to open the inning and back-to-back walks loaded the bases. A Dave Fradette (Goffstown, N.H.) single down the right field line with one out scored Von Stein, but that was all the Skyhawks would get as Raven starter Tom Cote worked his way out of the inning.

A Mitch Davis (Bow, N.H.) sacrifice fly tied the game at 2-2 in the top of the seventh but an RBI single from Jake Christman  put the Ravens ahead in the bottom of the frame, setting up the eighth inning heroics.

Von Stein went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Stonehill attack, while Matt Orr (Wilton, Conn.), Nate Weber (Hanson, Mass.) and Fradette accounted for all five of the Skyhawk hits.

Justin Perry (Wilbraham, Mass.) took the loss for Stonehill, while Tyler Bishop, who blew the save, got the win to improve to 4-1.

The Skyhawks return to action on Thursday when they travel to Merrimack for a meeting with the Warriors at 3:30 p.m.
