AMSTERDAM, N.Y.-- Senior Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) drove in three runs to back an eight inning performance on the mound by junior Mat Lindenmayer (Penfield, N.Y.) as Stonehill claimed the rubber game of a three-game Northeast-10 Conference weekend set by posting a 9-4 league triumph over Saint Rose Monday afternoon at Shuttleworth Park.

The visiting Skyhawks (11-15, 5-9 Northeast-10) jumped out to a 3-0 second inning lead on a bases-loaded walk to junior Matt Orr (Wilton, Conn.) and an RBI groundout by freshman Brendan Shepard (Boxford, Mass.) that sandwiched a wild pitch, and Stonehill extended its edge to 4-0 in the third on a solo homer off the bat of senior Max Vigliotti (Stamford, Conn.), his fourth round tripper of the spring. The host Golden Knights (5-16, 3-6 Northeast-10) got on the board in the bottom of the frame on a wild pitch, but Stonehill plated three more tallies in the fourth on an RBI single by senior Blake Marston (Concord, N.H.) and a two-run single off the bat of Pardo and added another run in the sixth on an RBI double by senior Tom Aldrich (New Canaan, Conn.) to take an 8-1 advantage into the late innings. The Skyhawks closed out their scoring in the eighth on a bases-loaded walk to Pardo, and Saint Rose tacked on three tallies in its final two at-bats, as an RBI groundout by senior Daniel Bruno (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) in the eighth and a two-run single by freshman John Cole (Spring Valley, N.Y.) closed out the scoring.

Aldrich, Vigliotti and Marston each collected two hits as part of a 10-hit Stonehill attack, as Lindenmayer pitched into the ninth inning, allowed just two earned runs and fanning six to improve to 3-2 on the season. Sophomore Matt Frey (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshmen Ryan Price (Binghamton, N.Y.) and Derek Marshall (Malone, N.Y.) each had two hits as part of an 11-hit effort for Saint Rose, as junior Chris Cahill (Saugerties, N.Y.) allowed seven hits and four earned runs over 3 2/3 innings to take the loss on the mound for the Golden Knights.

Stonehill travels to Pleasantville, N.Y. on Tuesday afternoon to take on Pace in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Saint Rose hosts American International in a Northeast-10 match-up on Tuesday afternoon at Shuttleworth Park beginning at 3:30 p.m.
