EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Adam Pardo's (Hanover, Mass.) two-out RBI single in the bottom of the eighth plated the lone run of the contest and propelled Stonehill to a 1-0 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over Saint Anselm and a sweep of a three-game weekend set Sunday afternoon at Gorman Field.

In the shortest nine-inning game in school history (1:35), senior Chris Herrmann (Chelmsford, Mass.) picked up his second win of the season with a complete-game effort on the mound for the host Skyhawks (18-22-1, 10-16-1 Northeast-10), as he and senior Jeff Keefe (Cambridge, Mass.) of the visiting Hawks (8-27, 8-20 Northeast-10) locked up in a scoreless duel until Pardo's heroics. Junior Matt Orr (Wilton, Conn.) laced a one-out single in the decisive frame for Stonehill, advanced to second on junior Ryan Halloran's (Tyngsboro, Mass.) base hit and to third on a fielder's choice groundout before Pardo provided the game-winner for the hosts with his third hit of the contest, and Herrmann took care of the rest on the mound in scattering six hits and striking out nine on the day.

Keefe was equally stellar in the setback for Saint Anselm, as he also allowed just six hits and struck out six in taking the loss on the mound. The Hawks' best chance to score came in the fourth when seniors Chris Greeke (Hamilton, Mass.) and Mark Wysocki (New Britain, Conn.) laced consecutive two-out singles, and junior Adam Hussey (Danvers, Mass.) followed with a line drive to center that was snagged on a diving catch by Skyhawk senior Matt Vaughn (Bow, N.H.) to keep the game scoreless. Greeke and Wysocki each had two hits in the setback for the visitors.

Stonehill hosts Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 outing on Wednesday afternoon at Gorman Field beginning at 3:30 p.m., while Saint Anselm and Pace will play a make-up contest later this afternoon at Gorman Field scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
