FORT MYERS, Fla.-- The Stonehill baseball team continued play at the Gene Cusic Classic by splitting a pair of contests on Saturday afternoon, as the Skyhawks outslugged Hillsdale (Mich.) by a 19-16 final in the opener before dropping a 13-3 decision to Saginaw Valley State in the nightcap at Terry Park.

Senior Blake Marston (Concord, N.H.) and junior David Fradette (Goffstown, N.H.) each rapped out four hits in the win over Hillsdale for Stonehill, which also received three hit performances from seniors Tom Aldrich (New Canaan, Conn.) and Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) as well as sophomore Nate Weber (Hanson, Mass.). Senior Max Vigliotti (Stamford, Conn.) and sophomore Dave Migani (Amity, Conn.) each belted grand slams for the Skyhawks, who also received a three-run round tripper off the bat of freshman Brenden Shepard (Boxford, Mass.) as part of a four RBI performance.

Weber, sophomore Javier Guzman (San Juan, P.R.) and freshman Matt Zitano (East Freetown, Mass.) each rapped out two hits in the setback to Saginaw Valley State for Stonehill, as sophomore Justin Perry (Wilbraham, Mass.) picked up both decisions in relief on the day for the Skyhawks.

Stonehill, now 2-1 on the young season, will take on C.W. Post in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at the Gene Cusic Classic at 4:00 p.m.
