EASTON, Mass.-- Senior Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) went 4-for-5 as part of a 15-hit attack as Stonehill used a six-run first inning outburst to post an 8-3 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over American International Thursday afternoon at Gorman Field.

The host Skyhawks (9-14, 3-8 Northeast-10) batted around in their first at-bat after spotting the visiting Yellow Jackets (5-10, 1-7 Northeast-10) an early 1-0 edge, as a two-run double off the bat of sophomore Javier Guzman (San Juan, P.R.) highlighted a six-hit Stonehill effort in the first frame. Senior Blake Marston (Concord, N.H.) and junior Ryan Halloran (Tyngsboro, Mass.) also drove in runs with a single and a fielder's choice for the hosts, who also received a sacrifice fly off the bat of junior David Fradette (Goffstown, N.H.) in the inning. The Skyhawks extended their lead to 8-1 in the fourth on RBI singles by Pardo and senior Max Vigliotti (Stamford, Conn.), and American International closed out the scoring in the sixth with a pair of runs on a bases loaded walk to senior Dominic Meattey (Fitzwilliam, N.H.) and an RBI single by junior Jason Rustico (Plantsville, Conn.).

Guzman, senior Matt Vaughn (Bow, N.H.) and junior Matt Orr (Wilton, Conn.) each had two hits in the win for Stonehill, as sophomore Matt Giusti (Hopkinton, Mass.) picked up his second win on the mound for the hosts, allowing four hits and three earned runs in 5 2/3 innings of work with three strikeouts. Sophomore Justin Perry (Wilbraham, Mass.) allowed just two hits and fanned two in 3 1/3 scoreless innings of relief to pick up his first save of the spring for the Skyhawks. Senior Brett Cooley (Somers, Conn.) allowed 12 hits and seven earned runs in five innings of work to fall to 0-2 on the mound for American International, as the Yellow Jackets received a pair of hits off the bat of Rustico.
