MANCHESTER, N.H.-- Senior Tim Flynn (Clifton Park, N.Y.) went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs to lead Stonehill to an 11-2 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over Southern New Hampshire Thursday afternoon at Penmen Field.

The visiting Chieftains (17-11, 10-6 Northeast-10) collected 17 hits en route to their third straight victory, as Stonehill jumped out to a 3-0 first inning lead on Flynn’s two run single that was followed by an RBI double off the bat of freshman Ryan Halloran (Tyngsboro, Mass.), and the visitors added a single run in the third on an RBI single by sophomore Blake Marston (Concord, N.H.) to take a 4-0 lead. A pair of run-scoring singles by Flynn and junior Coley Lyons (West Roxbury, Mass.) extended the Chieftain lead to 6-0 in the top of the seventh, and after the host Penmen (8-19, 5-14 Northeast-10) got on the board in the bottom of the frame on a two-run double off the bat of junior Wayne Parker (Manchester, Conn.), Stonehill tacked on five runs in the eighth to close out the scoring, as a two-run single by junior Sean Lawrence (New Rochelle, N.Y.), coupled with a Flynn RBI double and a Halloran RBI single, highlighted the rally.

Lawrence, who became the second Stonehill player in school history to hit for the cycle in Tuesday’s win over Southern New Hampshire, went 3-for-5 and drove in a pair of runs in the triumph, while Halloran, Lyons, senior Craig Audette (Raynham, Mass.) and sophomore Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) each rapped out two hits on the day for the Chieftains. Senior Billy McLane (Plymouth, N.H.) allowed just four hits and two runs over seven innings while striking out a pair to improve to 5-2 on the mound for the visitors, as junior Dean Chiusano (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshman Andy Hillier (Hanover, Mass.) each struck out two in one inning of relief work each for Stonehill.

Parker and sophomore Rich Russell (Swanzey, N.H.) each had two hits in the setback for Southern New Hampshire, as sophomore Rob Hennessy (Westford, Mass.) suffered the loss on the mound for the Penmen, allowing eight hits and three earned runs while striking out four in three innings of work.

Stonehill travels to Waltham, Mass. on Friday afternoon to take on rival Bentley in a Northeast-10 outing at DeFelice Field that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Southern New Hampshire hosts Merrimack in a Northeast-10 match-up on Friday afternoon at Penmen Field that also begins at 3:30 p.m.
