PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y.-- Sophomore Matt Bisbano’s (Mount Kisco, N.Y.) sixth inning sacrifice fly snapped a 4-4 tie and lifted Pace to a 5-4 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over Stonehill Friday afternoon at Finnerty Field.

The host Setters (17-10, 12-2 Northeast-10) overcame a 4-1 run deficit to post their 11th straight triumph, as Pace took advantage of a pair of third inning errors to plate two runs and close to within 4-3 before evening matters in the fourth on a wild pitch. Senior Matt Pisseri (Eastchester, N.Y.) led off the bottom of the sixth for the winners, advanced to third on an error and scored on Bisbano’s sacrifice fly that proved to be the difference.

The visiting Chieftains (14-10, 8-6 Northeast-10) plated all four of their runs in the top of the second, as a pair of RBI singles by senior Craig Audette (Raynham, Mass.) and junior Sean Lawrence (New Rochelle, N.Y.), as well as an RBI groundout by junior Coley Lyons (West Roxbury, Mass.), accounted for three of Stonehill’s tallies, with the other coming on an error.

Pisseri and junior Brian Hollrah (Glenwood, Md.) each rapped out two hits in the win for Pace, as senior Jared Monti (Hampton, N.J.) allowed six hits and one earned run in six innings of work for his second win of the season on the mound for the Setters. Sophomore Earl Oakes (Bristol, Conn.) allowed the potential tying run to advance to third in the ninth for the hosts, but recorded the final out to pick up his fifth save of the year.

Audette and Lawrence each collected two hits in the setback for Stonehill, as senior Billy McLane (Plymouth, N.H.) allowed eight hits and one earned run while fanning four in six innings of work in suffering his second setback in six decisions on the mound for the Chieftains.

Stonehill travels to Lodi, N.J. on Saturday afternoon to take on Felician in a non-league doubleheader that begins at 3:00 p.m, while Pace travels to Waltham, Mass. on Saturday afternoon for a Northeast-10 twinbill with Bentley that begins at Noon.
