RINDGE, N.H.-- Sophomore Kim Hart (Gorham, Maine) went 3-for-4 and drove in three runs to back six shutout innings on the mound by junior Tyler Cummings (South Paris, Maine) as 29th-ranked Franklin Pierce claimed its sixth straight victory with a 10-0 Northeast-10 Conference baseball triumph over Stonehill Thursday afternoon at Dr. Pappas Field.

The host Ravens (22-9, 16-6 Northeast-10) got the only run they would need in the fourth on a Hart RBI single and broke things open with six runs in the bottom of the sixth, as Hart stroked a two-run single to right for a 3-0 Franklin Pierce lead to begin the rally that was followed by RBI singles by junior Randy Fenton (Worcester, Mass.) and sophomore Vinny Pennell (Spencer, Mass.) to go with a two-run double off the bat of sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine). The hosts closed out the scoring in the eighth with three more tallies that came on a two-run double by junior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) and an RBI double by junior Shawn Hayes (Charlton, Mass.). Cummings took care of the rest on the mound, as he allowed five hits and fanned three to pick up his fourth win in seven decisions on the season for Franklin Pierce.

Freshman Ryan Halloran (Tyngsboro, Mass.) collected two of six hits in the setback for the visiting Chieftains (18-14, 11-9 Northeast-10), as sophomore Nick SantaBarbara (Middleton, Mass.) allowed eight hits and seven runs in 5 2/3 innings in falling to 5-2 on the mound for Stonehill, which left 10 runners on base on the day.

Stonehill travels to Smithfield, R.I. on Friday afternoon to take on Bryant in a Northeast-10 outing that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Franklin Pierce hosts Southern Connecticut in a Northeast-10 contest on Friday afternoon at Dr. Pappas Field that also begins at 3:30 p.m.
