BROCKTON, Mass.-- Junior Brian Duplissie (East Swanzey, N.H.) allowed four hits and struck out 10 over seven innings of work and helped his own cause on the mound with three hits and three RBI as 29th-ranked Franklin Pierce collected its fifth straight victory with a 10-2 Northeast-10 Conference triumph over Stonehill Tuesday evening at Campanelli Stadium.

The visiting Ravens (21-9, 15-6 Northeast-10) jumped out to a 3-0 lead in their first at-bat on a two-run double by junior Shawn Hayes (Charlton, Mass.) and an RBI double by sophomore Kim Hart (Gorham, Maine), and Franklin Pierce extended that advantage to 4-0 in the third on a Duplissie RBI double. The host Chieftains (18-13, 11-8 Northeast-10) answered back with what proved to be their lone runs of the night in the fourth on a pair of RBI groundouts by senior Tim Flynn (Clifton Park, N.Y.) and freshman Ryan Halloran (Tyngsboro, Mass.), but the Ravens took control of the contest with three runs in the fifth on a two-run double by Duplissie and a sacrifice fly by junior Mike Feetham (Quincy, Mass.). The visitors added two more in the seventh on a Hart RBI single and a sacrifice fly by junior Randy Fenton (Worcester, Mass.) and closed out the scoring in the eighjth on a Hayes RBI groundout.

Hayes joined Duplissie with three hits and three RBI in the win for Franklin Pierce, while Hart added three hits as well for the Ravens, who also received a pair of hits each from junior Mike Chambers (Londonderry, N.H.) and sophomore Garrett Olson (Norway, Maine) as part of a 14-hit attack. Junior Coley Lyons (West Roxbury, Mass.) and sophomore Adam Pardo (Hanover, Mass.) each collected two hits as part of a six-hit effort for Stonehill, as Duplissie remained unbeaten in picking up his fifth win in as many decisions for the visitors. Senior Billy McLane (Plymouth, N.H.) allowed nine hits and seven runs while fanning three in five innings of work in falling to 5-3 on the mound for the Chieftains in the setback.

Stonehill and Franklin Pierce meet again on Thursday afternoon in a Northeast-10 outing at Dr. Pappas Field in Rindge, N.H. beginning at 3:30 p.m.
