NEWARK, N.J.-- Sophomore Nick SantaBarbara (Middleton, Mass.) allowed three hits and struck out six over six shutout innings of work to pick up his fifth victory of the season as Stonehill gained a split of a non-league college baseball doubleheader with Felician by posting a 7-0 nightcap victory Saturday afternoon at Bears Stadium. The host Golden Falcons took the opener by a 5-2 final.

SantaBarbara collected his second shutout triumph of the season for the visiting Chieftains (15-11) in the nightcap, as he kept the host Golden Falcons (9-22) at bay while Stonehill took control of the contest with two runs in the fifth and a five-run outburst that broke things open in the sixth. Senior Craig Audette (Raynham, Mass.), junior Sean Lawrence (New Rochelle, N.Y.) and sophomore Blake Marston (Concord, N.H.) each had two hits in the second game win for the Chieftains, as Audette and Lawrence each drove in a pair of runs to help SantaBarbara improve to 5-1 on the season.

Senior Tim Flynn (Clifton Park, N.Y.) drove in both runs in the opening game setback for Stonehill, while freshman David Fradette (Goffstown, N.H.) rapped out a pair of hits for the visitors. Senior Matt Mitchell (West Roxbury, Mass.) took the setback on the mound for the Chieftains, allowing five hits and two earned runs over five innings while striking out four.

Stonehill hosts Southern New Hampshire in a Northeast-10 Conference outing on Tuesday afternoon at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass. beginning at 3:30 p.m.
