WALTHAM, Mass.-- Freshman Chris Dupay (Scotia, N.Y.) tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout and fanned seven to lead Bentley to a 2-0 Northeast-10 Conference baseball victory over Stonehill Thursday afternoon at DeFelice Field.

The host Falcons (4-8, 2-2 Northeast-10) broke up a scoreless tie with an unearned run in the top of the fifth, and Bentley added an insurance tally in the eighth on an RBI single by sophomore Mike O’Connor (Wilbraham, Mass.) to close out the scoring. Dupay took care of the rest on the hill for the hosts in improving to 2-1 on the season, as he carried a no-hitter into the eighth frame before sophomore Max Vigliotti (Stamford, Conn.) stroked a one-out single to left for the visiting Chieftains (7-5, 1-1 Northeast-10).

Four different Falcons collected hits in the triumph for Bentley, as Stonehill senior Billy McLane (Plymouth, Mass.) was a tough-luck loser on the mound for the visitors, allowing just four hits and an earned run over 7 1/3 innings in falling to 2-1 on the season. Junior Brian Nelson (Greenville, R.I.) fanned four in 1 2/3 innings of relief work for the Chieftains as well.

Stonehill travels to Lowell, Mass. on Friday afternoon for a Northeast-10 twinbill with UMass Lowell at LeLacheur Park beginning at 3:00 p.m., while Bentley hosts Brandeis in a non-league match-up on Friday afternoon at DeFelice Field beginning at 3:00 p.m.
