EASTON, Mass. (August 18, 2010) – A total of 585 Stonehill College student-athletes have been recognized with Academic Achievement Awards from the Division II Athletic Directors Association (ADA). To earn recognition, student-athletes from Division II ADA member institutions must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, have completed at least four semesters, and have been an active member of their team during the previous academic year.

It marks the second-straight year the College has won the Presidents’ Cup and third overall, having also won the award in 2005-06 and 2009-10, and is the seventh-straight year it has finished in the top three in the final standings. (June 5, 2011) – Seniors Emily Rousseau (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) and Angelo Bruno (Norwalk, Conn./Norwalk) have been named Stonehill College’s institutional candidates for the Northeast-10 Conference Female and Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards. The two award winners will be announced at the NE-10’s end of the year banquet on Tuesday, June 7, in Providence, R.I.

(May 31, 2011) – Stonehill College senior women’s basketball standout Emily Rousseau (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford) has been named one of three finalists for the 2011 Northeast-10 Conference Woman of the Year Award, to be selected by the Senior Woman Administrator Council (SWA), and announced at the Conference’s end of the year meetings in Providence in June 7. The winner will automatically be put forward as the Conference’s nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year.

(April 1, 2011) - Alumnus James "Lou" Gorman, who died early in the morning on Friday, April 1, 2011, was synonymous with the Boston Red Sox, having served the team in various capacities since 1984. But he was also the most honored individual in Stonehill history, someone whose volunteer spirit and dedication merited recognition not just from his peers, but from succeeding generations of alumni at the College.

As March rolls around, most students are getting out their suitcases and heading somewhere sunny, warm, and tropical with only one thing on their mind: spring break. This is the time of year for students to relax and forget about the stress of homework and tests, allowing them to shift their focus to having fun with a trip to Florida or Cancun, or just relaxing at home. This year, eight Stonehill College student-athletes will be experiencing a different type of break, participating in the College’s alternative spring break program called HOPE.
