45 Stonehill Student-Athletes Earn Division II ADA Academic Achievement Awards

Northeast-10 Conference’s 350 honorees are most in Division II

EASTON, Mass. (August 13, 2010) – A total of 45 Stonehill College student-athletes have been recognized with Academic Achievement Awards from the Division II Athletic Directors Association (ADA). To earn recognition, student-athletes from Division II ADA member institutions must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, have completed at least four semesters, and have been an active member of their team during the previous academic year.

The 45 Stonehill student-athletes honored represented 19 of 20 Skyhawks intercollegiate athletic programs. The equestrian and women’s track & field teams led the way with seven honorees each, followed by softball and women’s soccer with five apiece.

Heading the list of individual honorees for Stonehill is four-time Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) first team All-American Jaclyn Craig (Rocky Point, N.Y./Rocky Point), the IWLCA Division II Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and men’s tennis senior  Michael Mashkevich (Goleta, Calif./Framingham (Mass.)) a third team ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American.

The Northeast-10 Conference had a total of 350 ADA Academic Achievement honorees, the most of any Division II conference.
