Frank Strachan first excelled as a player on Stonehill's club football team. In 1988, the team went varsity and Frank continued to turn heads as a triple-treat. In two years, he set several rushing records that stood for many years. His greatest moment came during the last game of his senior year in the first Eastern Collegiate Football Conference Championship. In Stonehill's 24-12 win over Bentley, Frank rushed for 88 yards, punted nine times at an average of 35 yards each, and threw the clinching touchdown pass, a 51-yard bomb to Dan Smith in the fourth quarter.
