Henry Jackson was a smooth point guard who led the
Chieftains in the early 1970s when Stonehill made the NCAA
Tournament back-to-back in 1972 and ’73. He was a 1,090-point
scorer and outstanding passer and defensive player. His career-high
game was a 36-point effort in a win over Adelphi. His quick hands
and defensive talents led to a memorable moment when he stole an
inbounds pass against Saint Michael’s College and scored to
just beat the buzzer and win the game. Hank graduated in 1973 with
a degree in accounting. The nine years prior to his induction, he
was the comptroller at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He
also operated his own CPA firm and is a certified public accountant
in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. Hank and his wife, Deborah,
reside in McLean, VA. With their three children, Kelley, Justin,
and Brandon, whom he coached in the McLean Youth League.
