A native of Brockton, Mass. and graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Paul Hayes was a two-sport star playing basketball and baseball at Stonehill. Hayes played for three basketball coaches; Fran O'Brien, George Blaney and Jim Dougher, yet he still managed to average double figures in scoring and rebounding.  During Paul's four years he shot 50% from the floor and 90% from the charity stripe. In the spring, Hayes won 80% of his games as an all-star baseball pitcher.  He owns an impressive career batting average of .400. During his senior season, Hayes captained both teams and was the recipient of the Stonehill College Scholar-Athlete Award. Hayes has two children, Peter and Melissa.
