Fred Petti was the first head softball coach in Stonehill's history.  He was inducted for his work on the diamond as well as his countless contributions to Stonehill Athletics as the College's Vice President for Administration. Petti is by far the winningest softball coach in Stonehill history, compiling an overall record of 131-61-1 over eight straight seasons for a .685 winning percentage, including a school-record 25 victories in 1985. Each of Petti's teams reached double-digits in victories during his tenure, winning 16 or more contests on five occasions. Stonehill advanced to the ECAC Division II tournament in 1985 and captured three straight MAIAW Championships from 1980 through 1982. Additionally, Fred guided Stonehill to a berth in the EAIAW tournament in 1981. In his role as Vice President for Administration, Petti has helped to oversee and develop the growth of Stonehill Athletics to its current standing of 20 varsity teams, as well as serving on numerous committees that are connected with Stonehill Athletics.
