Andrea Mancuso, 23, of Greenwood Lake, , has been accepted into the Peace Corps and will depart for Sierra Leone in June to begin training as a health volunteer.

"I believe every person is entitled to the opportunities necessary to achieve their full health potential. I also believe that the Peace Corps may be the best opportunity to work towards health equity while also sharing my viewpoint of health being a human right," said Mancuso of her desire to join the Peace Corps.

Mancuso is the daughter of Sharon and Sal Mancuso, of Greenwood Lake, and a graduate of Cornwall Central High School in New Windsor,  NY.
