EASTON, Mass. (December 5, 2018) - Stonehill College is saddened to hear the news of Billy Mullen's passing on Monday. Mullen served as assistant volleyball coach at Stonehill during the 2016 season under Stonehill's current head coach Kathleen Colpoys.

Mullen assisted current head coach Colpoys to a 12-13 overall record in the 2016 season and a 7-7 Northeast-10 Conference record.

Mullen came to Stonehill after playing for three years as an outside hitter on the Endicott College men's volleyball team. He also served as co-captain during his senior season. Mullen helped the Gulls to three-straight New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championships, 2013, 2014, and 2015. Also while at Endicott, Mullen enlisted in the United States Army Reserves and continued to train as a Specialist, Combat Medic (68W) while coaching. He was a volunteer coach for Weymouth Little League and volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scout.

Most recently, Mullen was a substitute teacher in the Weymouth Public School System and was working with Caldwell and Walsh as a laborer and assistant supervisor.
