EASTON, Mass. (November 21, 2018) – The Stonehill College dance team has announced the signing of Norwood, Massachusetts native Trinity Elias to its program during a draft day through Team IMPACT and Prime Motor Group at the Sally Blair Sports Complex on Monday night.

Trinity, 12-years old, was diagnosed at the age of one with Cerebral Palsy. This is a neurological disorder that affects a child's movement, motor skills, and muscle tone.

Team IMPACT (Inspire, Motivate, Play Against Challenges Together), a national nonprofit that connects children facing serious and chronic illnesses with local college athletic teams to form life-long bonds and life-changing outcomes, matched Trinity with the dance team and they first met in early November.

Prior to the signing, Stonehill College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Chair, Team IMPACT fellow, and junior on the Stonehill College men's ice hockey team said a few words, followed by the Team IMPACT Chief Executive Officer, Seth Rosenzweig. Rosenzweig thanked Prime Motor Group for being a partner in this match as well as sharing how much having a new member on the dance team will impact the family and the team.

On Monday, November 19 at 5:00 p.m., it was official, Trinity and her mom, Rachel, signed the letter of intent and became a member of this year's dance team. At the ceremony, Trinity was given her own Stonehill dance uniform top, a warm-up jacket, a bag of her favorites, and of course a picture with Ace. By signing the contract, she agreed to be a part of the team by coming to practices and games whenever she can and representing her teammates by wearing her Stonehill gear.

"I am very excited to have the opportunity to draft Trinity to our team," remarked Head Coach Michelle Montinieri. "When I think about the team members that have stuck out throughout the years, it has nothing to do with their dance ability, but everything to do with their personality and the impact that they made on everyone here. We are so excited to have Trinity start her first year with the team and to continue through and be a part of our sisterhood."

In attendance was the entire dance team, Trinity's family including her mother, Rachel, her father Joe, her twin sister, Serena, brother, Luke, some of her extended family, and her trusty service dog, Rocky. "I am excited that she is part of the team!" exclaimed Rachel. "I am excited that she is going to have something that's hers. She is part of a team now and hopefully it will break her out of her shell a little bit."

Trinity was surprised with her favorite music playing in the background while the team held a pizza party and then followed it with a photo shoot with the green screen. Team IMPACT has now paired seven teammates to Stonehill College athletic teams.
