EASTON, Mass. (October 4, 2016) - Stonehill College is proud to announce the induction of three former student-athletes, a former coach and local sportswriter into its Athletic Hall of Fame during its annual induction ceremony on Friday, October 21.

The Stonehill Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2016 will be former student-athletes Michelle Massa '94, from the equestrian and women's tennis program, Caitlin Gleason '08, from the field hockey program, Keith Gill '09, of the cross country and track & field programs, former women's lacrosse head coach Michael Daly and Brockton Enterprise college sports writer Jim Fenton.

The event will be held on the Stonehill campus, on Friday, October 21, with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and the induction ceremony at 7 p.m. Tickets for $50.00 can be purchased until Friday, October 14, with Colleen Ford in the Department of Athletics at (508) 565-1384.

With 20 intercollegiate sports, Stonehill boasts one of the top athletic and academic programs in the country. While finishing in the top three of the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Cup standings for overall athletic performance 12 straight years, the Skyhawks have received the NCAA Division II Presidents' Award for Academic Achievement each of the first five years of the program's existence of honoring institutions with an Academic Success Rate (ASR) of 90-percent or better. Stonehill has earned a 96% Academic Success Ranking (ASR) by the NCAA two straight years, which considers the academic success rate of the institution based on the graduation rate of student-athletes, good for fifth among all NCAA Division II institutions, with 12 Skyhawk teams receiving a perfect rating of 100%. In addition, the Skyhawks are ranked third in the National Collegiate Scouting Association (NCSA) Power Rankings for Division II used to assess the academic and athletic standards of all NCAA and NAIA athletic programs. Stonehill has also been selected as the host of the 2016 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championships at W.B. Mason Stadium November 18-20.
