For the second-straight week, Ace has named junior Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Massachusetts/Pembroke) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Vercollone broke his own school record and improved his NCAA provisional qualifying standard in the 800-meter run at Sunday's "Last Chance" meed at Boston University. He completed the event in 1:51.19 to 21st on the NCAA Division II provisional list and surpass he previous school mark of 1:51.92 at the same track at BU on February 10. Vercollone earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this year (sixth career).

Ace has named junior Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Massachusetts/Pembroke) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Vercollone won the individual NE10 title for the 800-meter run to highlight a pair of All-Conference performances in helping the Skyhawks to a third place team finish at the Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships over the weekend. He was the lone NE10 Champion among the Stonehill men this weekend, when he was left standing at the top of the pack for the 800-meter run with his time of 1:54.81. It was his second All-NE10 performance of the weekend, after running the 800-meter leg of the 4000-meter distance medley relay on Saturday, and the fifth All-Conference performance of his career overall. Stonehill's DMR earned All-NE10 honors for the first time since 2013 with a second place finish in 9:57.51 – less than a second behind first place AIC as Vercollone completed his 800m leg in 1:52.65. Vercollone earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year (fifth career.)

Week Ending February 11, 2018

Ace has named sophomore swingman Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minnesota/Edina) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Moreton averaged 27.5 points on 55.6-percent shooting (20-for-36) from the field, including 5-for-10 (50%) from three-point distance, in a big 2-0 week for the Skyhawks. He also contributed nine rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 steals for the week, while draining 10-of-13 (76.9%) free-throw attempts. Moreton scored 23 of his game-high 30 points in the second half of Tuesday's 93-71 win at Saint Michael's, finishing 11-for-20 from the field, including 4-for-7 from three-point distance, while converting 4-of-5 free-throws with seven rebounds, four assists and three steals. He followed that up with his third double-double of the season in Saturday's big 84-78 win at Franklin Pierce, scoring 14 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, while grabbing 11 rebounds, to go with five assists and two steals. He finished shooting 9-of-16 from the floor, while converting 6-of-8 free-throws on the afternoon. Moreton, who also earned Spalding NE10 Player of the Week honors for his efforts, collects Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season.

Ace has named junior Lucas Taxter (Readville, Massachusetts/Xaverian Brothers) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Taxter earned a pair of All-New England honors and was part of two NCAA provisional qualifying efforts to lead the Skyhawks at the New England Indoor Championships in Boston over the weekend. He posted a fifth place finish in the one mile run in 4:09.16 on Saturday to provisionally qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championshipsnext month. He led five Division II entries in the event, with his personal-best time ranking 24th nationally in Division II and second on the NE10 Conference performance chart. Taxter also ran the mile anchor leg for Stonehill's 4000-meter distance medley relay which finished second to UConn in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 9:51.49. His 4:07.1 split helped the relay post the fastest time in the NE10 this season - good for seventh nationally. Taxter, who was also named the NE10 Athlete of the Week for his efforts, earns Ace's Athlete of the Week for the first time this year (third career).

Week Ending January 28, 2018

Ace has named junior Stephen Vercollone (Pembroke, Massachusetts/Pembroke) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Vercollone provisionally qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 800-meter run on Saturday at BU's John Thomas Terrier Invitational with his personal-best time of 1:52.71 - the 16th-fastest time in the country this winter. He placed 21st in the field of 121 entries in the event and 11th among collegiate runners. His time ranks third in the NE10 this season. Vercollone later joined his teammates at Tufts' Branwen Smith-King Invitational and ran the third leg of Stonehill's 4x400-meter relay that finished second in a season-best time of 3:25.06. His 49.8-second split helped the Skyhawks post the third-fastest time in the NE10 this season. Vercollone earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time this year (fourth career).

Ace has named juniorJoe Connolly (Wilmington, Massachusetts/Austin Prep) from the regionally-ranked men's indoor track & field program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Connolly posted two strong sprint performances at Saturday's URI Sorlien Invitarional. He was the top Division II finisher in the 200-meter dash, placing third in the field of 35 sprinters in 22.50-seconds. Connolly finished sixth in the 60-meter dash final in 7.05-seconds after qualifying eighth in the prelims in 7.09-seconds. He was the lone Division II sprinter to advance to the final in a field that also included NE10 rivals Assumption and Southern Connecticut State. Connolly earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

For the second time this season, Ace has named sophomore guard Brandon Twitty (Randolph, Massachusetts/Catholic Memorial) from the men's basketball program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Twitty averaged 26 points on 58.8-percent shooting from the field (20-for-34), including 7-for-13 (53.8%) from three-point distance in a 1-1 week for the Skyhawks. He also chipped in with three rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game for the week. Twitty scored 20 of his career-high 34 points in the second half to lead the Skyhawks back from a 12-point halftime deficit for a 96-80 win at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. He made 13-of-17 shots from the field, including 7-of-8 after halftime, while burying 5-of-6 three-pointers overall, to go with a career-best five steals. He led Stonehill with 18 points at Saint Rose on Wednesday, with four rebounds, two assists and two steals. It marks the second time in his career Twitty has collected Ace's Athlete of the Week honors.

For the second-straight week, Ace has named sophomore swingman Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minnesota/Edina) from the men's basketball program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Moreton averaged 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for the Skyhawks, connecting on 4.5 three-pointers per game. He led the way for Stonehill in Saturday's 75-57 win at Nyack with 17 points, aided by 5-of-8 shooting from three-point distance, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals. He scored 20 points for the second-straight game and fifth time this season overall in Wednesday's matchup with AIC, adding seven rebounds and three steals. It's the second time in his career Moreton has collected Ace's Athlete of the Week recognition.

Ace has named sophomore swingman Will Moreton (Minneapolis, Minnesota/Edina) from the men's basketball program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Moreton averaged 25 points on 50-percent shooting from the field (17-for-34), including 10-for-18 (55.6%) from three-point range, in a 2-0 week for the Skyhawks. He made all six free-throw attempts for the week and also contributed 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocked shots per game. Moreton led a balanced Stonehill effort in Saturday's 78-62 win at regionally-ranked Bridgeport, with a game-high 17 points on 5-of-13 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three-point range, and converting all four free-throw tries. He also filled the box score with nine rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots and a steal in the win. He followed that up with a career-high 33 points in Sunday's 88-67 win at LIU Post on 12-of-21 shooting from the field, including 7-for-12 from three-point distance, while adding eight rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots. Moreton, who also collected Spalding NE10 Player of the Week honors for his efforts, earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named sophomore forward Connor Jewett (Berlin, New Hampshire/Berlin) from the ice hockey program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Jewett scored both Skyhawk goals in their lone game of the week against Worcester State University on Tuesday. It marks his third-straight multi-point game as he netted his first of the game late in the first period to knot the score at a goal apiece. Jewett's second goal came in the third period as the Skyhawks fought to get back in the game. Jewett earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named sophomore guard Brandon Twitty (Randolph, Massachusetts/Catholic Memorial) from the men's basketball program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Twitty led the Skyhawks to a pair of road wins, including a 107-98 triumph over nationally-ranked and previously unbeaten Southern N.H., averaging 27.5 points on 59.4-percent shooting (19-for-32), including 10-for-15 (66.7%) from three-point distance. He also added 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, while connecting on 7-of-9 (77.8%) free-throws in the 2-0 week. Twitty drained half of Stonehill's three-point field goals on his way to the first 30-point game of his career in Tuesday's 76-65 win at Assumption, scoring a game-high 32 points on 10-of-29 shooting from the field, including 8-for-12 from beyond the arc, converting all four of his free-throws, while collecting four rebounds. He netted 20-plus points for the second-straight game and third time over four contests in Saturday's win at #14/18 Southern N.H., with 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting, including 2-for-3 from three-point distance, with three boards and two assists. Twitty earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named sophomore forward Conor Cassidy (Wilmington, Delaware/Canterbury and Kents Hill) from the ice hockey program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Cassidy totaled four points with three goals and an assist in a 1-1 week for the Skyhawks, finishing +3 over the two games. He opened the week with two goals and an assist for three points in Stonehill's 4-1 win over Post University. Cassidy added a goal in the Skyhawks setback to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday. Cassidy earns Ace's Athlete of the Weekl for the first time this season (second career).

Ace has named freshman guard Owen de Graaf (Beamsville, Ontario/Choate Rosemary Hall) from the men's basketball program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. de Graaf buried all five of his shots from the field, all from three-point range, for a season-high 15 points to lift the Skyhawks to a 75-73 triumph over #19/22 St. Thomas Aquinas on Sunday. He averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds and a blocked shot in 12 minutes per game in a 1-1 week for Stonehill, shooting 8-for-10 from the floor, including 6-for-8 from three-point distance. de Graaf also chipped in with four rebounds and two blocked shots in the win over the defending regional champions, in 15 minutes off the bench. He added seven points on 3-of-5 shooting, and three boards in nine minutes against St. Anselm on Tuesday. de Graaf earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time.

Ace has named freshman forward Logan Stark (Newton, Massachusetts/Walpole Express) from the ice hockey program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Stark netted three goals in a 2-1 week for the Skyhawks in NE10 play, including a power play goal. He netted both Stonehill goals in Friday night's series opener at Franklin Pierce, marking the first two goals of his collegiate career. Stark added his third of the weekend series with the Ravens in Saturday night's 5-3 win, giving the Skyhawks a 2-0 first period lead. Stark collects Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named senior quarterbacck Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pennsylvania/The Hill School) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Foltz engineered a Skyhawks offense which compiled 426 total yards in his final collegiate game with Saturday's 38-27 win over AIC as he completed 29-of-40 passes (72.5%) for 278 yards and a touchdown, without an interception, while adding a second touchdown on the ground. His 14th career TD rush opened the scoring on the first possession of the game, and his seven-yard touchdown pass sent Stonehill into halfime with a 24-14 lead after carrying the Skyhawks 65-yards in just four plays and 33-seconds, following an interception in the end zone by the defense. Foltz earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the third time this season (fifth career).

Ace has named sophomore wide receiver Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Massachusetts/Dennis-Yarmouth) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Jamiel broke one NE10 receiving record and matched another in leading the Skyhawks to a 56-30 triumph over Pace on Saturday. He totaled an NE10 record 294 receiving yards and NE10 record matching five touchdowns, while matching his own school record with 18 receptions in the win, matching the NCAA Division II season high for receiving TDs and posting the second-highest receptions and yardage totals in the Division this year. Jamiel finished the first half with 180 yards and four touchdowns on 11 receptions, including 126 yards on seven catches and two scores in the first quarter alone. He took a short pass across the middle on the first play from scrimmage of the game and raced 67-yards for a touchdown just 19-seconds into the game. Jamiel added a five yard touchdown catch at the end of Stonehill's second possession of the game and then followed with a pair of 18-yard touchdown catches in the second quarter, before rounding out his five TD day with a 14-yard catch in the fourth quarter. Jamiel, also named the NE10 Offensive Player of the Week, the New England Football Writers Division II/III Gold Helmet recipient and D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week, collects Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season (third career)

Ace has named senior forward Adam Branco (Naugatuck, Connecticut/Naugatuck) from the men's soccer program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Branco totaled a goal and assist for three points in a 1-1 week for the Skyhawks. He scored the opening goal of Stonehill's 3-2 win over Assumption on Tuesday, and then followed that up with an assist in the Skyhawks goal at Franklin Pierce on Friday night. Branco earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for second time this year (third career).

Ace has named sophomore running back Brian Kearns, Jr. (North Arlington, New Jersey/Saint Joseph Regional) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Kearns, Jr. led the Skyhawks back from an 18-point third quarter deficit with a career-high 34 carries for a career-best 243 yards (7.1 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns in Saturday night's 41-35 overtime triumph over rival Bentley. His yardage total is a new high for a Stonehill player at W.B. Mason Stadium and finished just seven yards shy of the program's single-game record overall. It marks the Skyhawks first 200-yard rushing game since 2013 and he compiled 99 yards on 13 carries in the third quarter alone as the team fell behind 28-10, but entered the fourth quarter tied 28-28 as he reeled off a 44-yard touchdown run as well as a two-yard scoring plunge. His 61-yard run on third and 21 in the first quarter set up an early field goal. Kearns, Jr., also caught 3 passes for 24 yards to finish with a career-high 267 all-purpose yards. Kearns, Jr., who also earned the New England Football Writers Division II/III Gold Helmet Award for his efforts, collects Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named junior defensive lineman John Ejiofor (Burlington Township, New Jersey/Burlington Township) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Ejiofor led a solid defensive effort at New Haven on Saturday with a team-high seven tackles (two solo), including 1.5 tackles for a loss of 13 yards, with a sack and forced fumble. The Skyhawks defense held New Haven to 127 rushing yards and 1-for-9 on third down. Ejiofor earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career.

Ace has named senior Jimmy Murphy (Mansfield, Massachusetts/Mansfield) from the nationally-ranked men's cross country program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Murphy led the Skyhawks to their first New England Championship in program history with a fifth place individual finish at the Championship at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday. He completed the eight-kilometer course in 25:29 to earn All-New England honors in cross country for the first time in his career, and second time in his career overall. Murphy earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the first time in his career for his efforts.

Ace has named senior Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pennsylvania/The Hill School) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Foltz engineered a Skyhawks offense that compiled 363 total yards in Saturday night’s 45-21 win at Merrimack by completing 19-of-26 passes for 229 yards and three touchdowns, without an interception or sack. He becomes just the second quarterback in program history to surpass 6,000 career-passing yards, finishing the night with 6,074 yards, while moving within three completions of the program's career record of 545 and tossing his 50th career touchdown pass. Foltz completed touchdown passes of 13, 16 and 27 yards as the Skyhawks scored 24 unanswered points to close out the win after the teams were tied at 21-21 five minutes into the second quarter. Foltz earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season (fourth career).

Week Ending September 24, 2017

Ace has named sophomore Andrew Jamiel (Yarmouth, Massachusetts/Dennis-Yarmouth) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Jamiel scored three touchdowns to lead the Skyhawks to a 28-14 triumph over Saint Anselm in the 13th annual "Battle for the Ol' Bronze Hawk" on Saturday night. He caught eight passes for a season-high 164 yards and a career-best three touchdowns, averaging 20.5 yards per reception for the night. He opened the game with a 55-yard shoestring catch and run for a touchdown on the opening possession of the game to stake Stonehill to a lead just 84-seconds into the game. He added an 11-yard touchdown catch midway through the second quarter to give the Skyhawks a 21-7 halftime lead and then added an impressive 26-yard touchdown over a defender on the right side of the end zone with 3:29 remaining that sealed the team's 14th straight win over the Hawks. Jamiel earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in his career.

Ace has named junior Riley Dowd (Peabody, Massachusetts/Peabody Veterans Memorial) from the regionally-ranked men's cross country program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Dowd led the Skyhawks to the team title at Saturday's Kutztown Division II/III Challenge by winning the individual crown by completing the 8-kilometer course in 26:28. He led a sweep of the top two spots at the meet as the Skyhawks also placed four runners in the top eight. Dowd earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in his career.

Ace has named senior forward Adam Branco (Naugatuck, Connecticut/Naugatuck) from the men's soccer program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Branco totaled two goals and two assists for six points in a 2-1 week for the Skyhawks. He had a hand in both Stonehill goals with a goal and assist in a 2-1 victory over Mercy to conclude the week. Branco potted a goal in Thursday's 2-1 triumph over Roberts Wesleyan and also dished an assist in Monday's setback to Daemen. Branco earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the second time in his career.

Ace has named senior quarterback Matt Foltz (Mount Joy, Pennsylvania/The Hill School) from the football program as the Champions Choice Stonehill Male Student-Athlete of the Week. Foltz led Stonehill to a 44-28 victory at Bloomsburg University on Saturday, engineering an offense that compiled 439 yards of total offense for the afternoon. He completed 22-of-35 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns, adding a fourth touchdown on the ground, as the Skyhawks jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Foltz opened the game with a 63-yard touchdown pass on third and eight on the opening drive of the game, before adding a 15-yard touchdown toss on the Skyhawks next possession. Foltz was 12-for-18 through the air for 174 yards and the two touchdowns in the first quarter alone as Stonehill took a 17-7 lead on its way to a 20-7 halftime advantage. The NE10's Offensive Player of the Week earns Ace's Athlete of the Week honors for the third time in his career.
