What is Stonehill SAAC all about?

The Stonehill Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is comprised of varsity student-athletes that represent their teams by giving input on and making improvements to the student-athlete experience. The mission of SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity for all student-athletes, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.

Our goals for SAAC are:

1. Representatives should be ACTIVE members—give input at meetings because it is your time to make your voice heard!

2. Representatives should be COMMUNICATING with teammates—find out prior to upcoming meeting if any issues should be discussed and follow up with teammates after each meeting!

3. Representatives should be VOLUNTEERING—help out at High School Seminar presentations & Make-A-Wish Foundation fundraisers. There will be a few major events this year and help will be needed!

Monthly advisory meetings
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee meets at least once per month in order to discuss Athletic Department/Conference/NCAA issues and team-specific concerns. The committee is made up of at least one representative from each athletic team, regardless of whether or not they are in season.

NE10 Conference "Make-A-Wish" Foundation fundraising project
Stonehill participates (in conjunction with other NE10 institutions) in an on-campus fundraising program to benefit the "Make-A-Wish" Foundation. All fundraised monies will be forwarded to the NCAA National SAAC committee, who will present the donation to the foundation.

High school student-athlete seminars (aspiring collegiate student-athletes)
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee presents several panel discussions to local high schools. The focus of the panel discussions are to present information to aspiring collegiate student-athletes in topics such as: finding the right college, commitment & expectations of a student-athlete, and NCAA compliance issues.
